About Chabad of Vancouver Island

Chabad of Vancouver Island, founded by Rabbi Meir and Chani Kaplan in 2003, is dedicated to serving everyone who is seeking the wisdom and warmth of Judaism, regardless of religious background, affiliation, or financial means.

Since the opening of the Chabad Centre for Jewish Life and Learning in August 2016, the programs of Chabad of Vancouver Island expanded rapidly and today Chabad is serving regularly hundreds of households on Vancouver Island!

Young families benefit greatly from Ctots Childhood Education Centre, Camp Gan Israel, Chabad Hebrew School, Cteen, and many programs that children look forward to year round.

Our Shul continues to be a place for Jews from all affiliations and backgrounds to feel welcome and our creative holiday events never cease to attract more Jews to celebrate our heritage with joy and enthusiasm.

Chabad reaches out to Jews across Vancouver Island with the Light of Shabbat Project, Jewish Art Calendar, Jewish Women’s Circle, student events, Sukkah Mobile, holiday events, and many other outreach initiatives that help bring the Jewish community together.
