An attack on our family

Dear friends,

Since my mother’s admission to the Tel Hashomer Hospital, one of my siblings has stayed with her every single day, to help her, accompany her, and support her through the long days of rehabilitation treatments.

My brother, Levi, who flew in from the US, is spending the next few days there. Last night, I called his cell, hoping to have him by my mother’s side so I could speak to her. To my surprise, he answered the phone still from my younger brother’s home in Ashdod, sounding alarmed.

“We just had a 'Tzeva Adom,'” he said, “and we had to run to the shelters." Minutes later I read on the news of the missile that fell in the city and injured ten people.

It is only when I speak to my sister in Ashkelon or to my brother in Ashdod, who are wakened in their homes in the middle of the night to a siren of a rocket that is about to hit their cities, that firing rockets turns from a “news item” to a reality in my family’s life.

The two couples that were driving to Eilat yesterday for vacation and were murdered on the way by terrorists just because they were Jews - are our brothers and sisters. We can’t just continue business as usual. We must constantly have the residents of the Holy Land in our thoughts and prayers, this is an attack on our family.

I wholeheartedly agree.

I am glad you family was unharmed in this attack.

I had a similar experience when rockets landed & exploded just a few blocks from my family living in Novai Shanon, Haifa, a few years ago.

Best regards.

I am soooo glad your family is safe, and sad for those who were murdered and hurt. Business as usual for us means always having part or our being focused on Eretz Yisroel and the friends, family and fellow Jews who live there along with many other righteous people.

Glad your family is allright, yet those killed add to the over 27,000 Jews martyred in defence of Israel.
How ironic that the terrible dictator Mubarak killed his own Egyptians, yet prevented arms smuggling on the Egyptian-Israeli border. From now on, no peace at the Egyptian border and more Israelis have to go there to defend the state. When will it all end?

On my sisters wedding night 15 years ago I was in tzfat sleeping in her friends apt above hers. The sirens went off at 2am because the scud missiles were on route. My sister had a sealed room with plastic in case of chemical warfare.

After hearing the siren I quickly dressed and ran down stIrs to my sisters apt. " Talia.....Let me in!!!! Her reply " Stephen .... This us our wedding night ".

We live in a crazy world. I'm glad no one was hurt. Life goes on. Baruch Hashem.
